Monday In My Mailbox - What Are You Reading?

In My Mailbox and It's Monday, What are you Reading are weekly memes hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren, Sheila at Book Journey. Both are great ways to share the books you're either reading, or shifting to the top of your TBR pile (because, let's face it, sometimes a little shifting is the best we can manage!).

Had to drive out of town last week for a specialist's appointment, which meant a chance to check out some different used bookstores. Sadly, the first two found by my GPS are no longer around, but the third revealed a few treasures - The Stepsister Scheme and The Mermaid's Madness by Jim C. Hines; Kushiel's Avatar by Jacqueline Carey, and a beautiful old mass-market paperback copy of When Gravity Fails by George Alec Effinger.

I received a nice batch of books for review last week as well, including Story of L by Debra Hyde, The Scrubs by Simon Janus, Katrina's Kiss by Betty Midnight, Widow’s Row by Lala Corriere, The Devil's Weekend by Jim Bronyaur, and Ivan and Misha by Michael Alenyikov.

As always, I'm generally hopping between books as the mood grabs me. Teasing me for time and seducing my attentions this week are:

Moonglow by Charlie Romo (just starting this one . . . sounds like a fun read)
The Hairdresser of Harare by Tendai Huchu (a really interesting read from Zimbabwe)
When Women Were Warriors by Catherine M. Wilson (a thoughtful fantasy tale about what it means to be a hero and a woman)
Widow’s Row by Lala Corriere (a small-town mystery with a few tantalizing twists)
The Diviner by Melanie Rawn (I've been waiting 15 years for this!)

Well, that's it for now . . . what are you reading?
